A hint of snow! Last night around 9:30, when the kids went up to the barn to do chores, the ground was fully white. I had planned my fall/winter switch for December first, but the snow took precedence. I walked dogs up to see them and ask how the tree-lighting in town went (fun! but COLD!). Then I went home and flipped the coffeetable runner over from fall side to winter.

A very small thing to get happy about, but it's important to enjoy those small things as much as possible. (Did I have to pick up a bunch of books, sewing supplies, and Random Bits up first? Yes, yes I did.)

Winter Snowflake Dress Ghost ❄️👻

So this definitely isn't the first ghost I made with a dress (though I'm not sure if I posted the others on here tbh), its definitely the one with the ✨fanciest✨ dress. Sticking with the winter theme, I added a snowflake design and used a ballpoint tool to add detailing to the white trim. I tried to make the dress have more of a silhouette with ruffles on the bottom, to add flair (because yesss✨). Then I just stuck with the blue color scheme for both the eyebrows and cheeks, finishing this wintery friend :)

There's something magical about electric garlands on windows and building facades. They create a warm glow that transforms a cold winter evening or rainy weather into something truly special.

Small Quilt

*Whew* I don't title my quilts, but if I did, this one would be named Mistakes were Made. I'm not going to enumerate all the little things that went wrong along the way with this, but I did get to complete the winter side today. I joined them back to back, with no border. While I still have to do a bit of pressing and hand-sew the one end together, I am relieved to have it mostly done.

I wasn't sure about the winter part when I had all the pieces cut; in isolation there wasn't anything particularly 'wintery' about any of them . . but when they were all joined together I was happy with the overall vibe. I think I'll flip it on the first day we get snow (however small a flurry.)
